I think the community has been asking this for quite a while. Though this really should not be a difficult thing to implement from the devs side. (Values are read as NUL, STX and other funky words.) Apparently it still is, to the game at least. These files will be jumbles of letters and numbers. Sort by date accessed, and the most recent one should be the first one. If that is not the case, and you’ve used one or two characters after that, then the files you want will be one or two jumbles further down. This video will tell you exactly which text to copy and paste, even though the file is still in it's packed format and appears unreadable. This assumes your corrupt character was the most recent one you’ve accessed. It's basically making a new character the way you want your old character to look, (after backing up of course) and then copying and pasting text from that new character's files into your old character, to which you can then safely delete the "new character" you just made. However, the method in the video does indeed work. (Not 1) Open it with Notepad or some other text editor and search it for your current player name.

The other common way is unpacking assets, editing them, and repacking them, but for whatever reason when I try to repack them I get errors.
